Umuganda

Umuganda is the national community work, taking place on the last saturday each month. Everybody in Rwanda between 18 and 65 years is obliged to partcipate in this activity. It is very silent out there on the streets. No taxis, not much people.

For me that means, after arriving last night in Kigali, that I am spending the day, as long as Umuganda lasts my hotel, and have a rest.
